The Search and Rescue Team is run by a cadre of sworn Cochise County Sheriff's Office Deputies. The deputy Coordinators are the critical link in the incident command system coordinating volunteer efforts, local, and state resources to achieve Search & Rescue Missions. As ARS 11-441 states, every County's Sheriff is responsible for conducting Search and Rescue Missions within their county. The deputies act as Incident Commanders during a mission and are trained in all the aspects of Search and Rescue Operations including: High Angle Rescue, Helicopter Shot Haul and Rappel Operations, Emergency Medicine and Swiftwater Rescue.
